Sofia Gallucci

Sofia Gallucci is a British-Italian theatre director and dramaturg based in London. Her work spans new writing, Shakespeare and musicals, with a particular interest in lost voices, female histories and the ways old stories can speak to the present.

Most recently, Sofia has worked as Associate Director on Coven at the Kiln Theatre, Assistant Director on The Constant Wife at the RSC, and Assistant Director on All’s Well That Ends Well at Shakespeare’s Globe. She has also worked at the Watermill Theatre and Bristol Old Vic, and was Resident Director on SIX in the West End. She is the founder of Pelican Daughters, an ensemble company making new work around remarkable female stories lost to history. Alongside her theatre practice, Sofia is completing a PhD in Early Modern Drama at the University of Exeter. She is also Creative Learning Associate for Pilot Theatre and regularly works as a dramaturg, script reader and director in drama schools.

Outside all of this, she loves running, cooking and writing about herself in the third person.

Sofia is represented by Tom Ping at Global Artists.
